Can a Large Dog & Cat Use the Same Double Flap Door?
Pet Door Products dog doors for large dogs feature relatively strong magnetic seals that might hold too snugly for some cats to pass through easily. But, there’s an easy adjustment that can be made. If you have both a cat and a dog sharing a pet door, you can reduce the resistance from the magnets along the pet door threshold as much as needed to lighten the strength of the closure. You can make that adjustment for any size of Pet Door Products dog door.
Can I Install This Door Into My Glass Door?
This pet door is not designed for installation in a regular single- or double-pane glass door. Pet Door Products’ advanced design is a pet door insert for sliding glass door installation. But, if you have a sliding glass door, our dog door for sliding glass door model could be ideal for your pet and your home. It features the same flap used for inserting into that door type.
Does the Door Sound Very Loud When the Dog Goes In or Out?
You may hear a slight clicking sound when the door closes as the magnets engage. That sound is your indicator that your new pet door is functioning well and sealing out the hot or cold exterior air and other weather elements to keep the interior of your home comfortable.
I Do Not Have to Contend With Wind or Rain, if I Buy the Single Flap Version of the Wall Dog Door Is It Possible to Add the Second Flap in the Future?
Yes, you can add the additional flap later if you wish. However, that approach to upgrading a single flap to a dual model involves a relatively complex set of tasks and can be expensive. You would need to buy a new frame for either the interior or exterior side of the opening. That’s because the pet door frames made for single flaps are configured slightly differently than those for the Endura Flap pet door double flap models.
Is a Single Flap Enough for Winter Weather?

Why Is There a Difference in Pet Door Flap Size for the Single Versus the Double Flap Models?
Every Endura Flap is built with double-wall insulated construction, which means they’re almost an inch thick (7⁄8″). When your pet pushes against the first flap to open the pet door, that flap pushes against the second flap and opens it. A narrow space remains along the top of the pet door opening between the two flaps. The second flap is designed to fit with the slightly different parameters of one side of the door that accommodate the different setup of the second flap.

I absolutely LOVE the custom dog door that Pet Door Products and my sales rep Patrick Runco helped me with!! I wish I would have put this pet door in sooner! We had a new sliding patio door with a doggie door installed 5 days ago. I wish I'd done this sooner. The installers were on time and very respectful of the fact I was working during the install. The old door was out and the new door was in within 2.5 hours. They left the area clean and showed me how to use it even though they probably didn't need to take that extra step. It was a nice touch. In fact, from the time I called to get a quote to getting the finished product, the entire process/team has been very good to work with. Glad we did it.
Superb customer service - really, they went above and beyond. The sliding door insert is the best dog/cat door solution on the market. It's as air tight as it can get, aesthetically pleasing, you don't cut into the door opening like you do with one of those cheap full height panels you get elsewhere, you can get double pane glass, you can match the existing low e coating, and you can replace just the flap itself if you ever need to. We love the door!The salesperson was very informative.The installer did a great job putting it in but the finish work he did was not good. The caulking was rough and bumpy and looked bad.I asked him to work on it and he did his best but he’s just not a good caulker. We ended up working on the caulking on the inside ourselves to make it look better.Everything else about the door is awesome.

The group at Petdoor products has been nothing but fantastic. I purchased a sliding glass insert for my townhome since I cant modify the exterior. The high performance glass has also allowed me to pull the blinds to the side and enjoy the sunlight from a south facing door without the heat blasting the room. We love our new in glass sliding door pet door!Everyone we worked with were friendly and answered any questions we had. We love, love, love our dog door. Our dogs picked up on it right away. It has been so nice to allow them to go in and out without having to get up all the time to let them out. I also like how we can close it down when we have people working in the yard, etc. and don’t want the dogs to go out. I believe how someone responds to a mistake says far more about them than just day to day transactions do. In this case, I’m happy to share the story. Some details are irrelevant, but a mistake happened on a Friday afternoon that affected us. I posted a review during the weekend but the replay came Monday morning, and that’s fair, which is one reason I’m adjusting my rating. Pet Door Products were very apologetic and owned the mistake, not once was blame placed where it shouldn’t. They owned it, and then fixed it. I purchased a sliding door insert from Home Depot for my dog and hated it because I basically couldn’t use the door for myself. The pet door slider gave me the ability to use the door again and I love it. Friendly service and it was installed earlier than the 6 weeks I was quoted at.
Ordered the door and had it installed within a month! I have a large 160lbs dog who fits fine in their XL dog door. He was timid at first, but has started warming up to the door! No air leakage, not crazy loud, and overall I am glad I invested. It is a bit spendy, but worth it.

We originally bought a patio pet dog door insert from Home Depot when we moved into our new home a few months ago. It leaked, let in bugs and was awful. Our window company recommended Pet Door Products and was put in touch with Gabriel. Gabriel came out when scheduled and gave us an estimate on a pet door that same day. With current supply chain issues he was upfront that it would take 6-8 weeks to come in and they would come out and install when they received it. We've had it for about a month and it is worth every penny! No more leaking air and bugs getting in and the door works the original way it was intended. We opted for the larger insert just in case we ever get a bigger dog and our Boston terriers have no problem going in and out. I would highly recommend. It takes a lot for me to write a review but this door is definitely worth it.

Our retro-fit sliding glass door with a dog door has been the solution for a long standing problem. We have four dogs ranging from 16 to 80 pounds that constantly want in and out of our backyard. Now they have the freedom to come and go as they need and want. The dog door has already shown its ability to stay closed during a storm. Yes, there is thermal loss. But we can mitigate that
Great product! This thing has allowed me to sleep again. My dog was constantly waking me up to let her out in the middle of the night. I was reluctant to get a doggy door because I hated how all the inserts for sliding glass doors would take up so much room in the doorway.
